'House of the Dragon' — Movies and TV Shows Where You've Seen the Cast Before
The long-awaited Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, is just around the corner with a confirmed abandon date of August 21, 2022. House of the Dragon will following the Targaryen dynasty at its peak, with a Targaryen king sitting on the coveted Iron Throne that principles over Westeros.
The series is required to show the political intrigue that follows in the royal risk as the many houses are interwoven together through marriages, alliances, and secret friendships. With dragons, drama, and an all-star cast, it seems like summer won’t be the only tying bringing the heat when this series releases.
Paddy Considine
Paddy Considine plays King Viserys Targaryen I, the mighty and reigning Targaryen king of Westeros. Considine is an established English actor, having won 2 British Film Academy Awards and starred in numerous television, film, and theatre productions. In terms of film, he has been seen in the Bournefranchise as Simon Ross, in binary to multiple other roles in movies such as Macbeth (Banquo), The Death of Stalin (Comrade Andreyev), and How to Interpretation A Girl (Pat Morrigan).
He has been seen on television in The Outsider (Claude Bolton/The Outsider)and The Third Day (Mr. Martin), both miniseries. He has also starred on Broadway in The Ferryman as Quinn Carney, which earned him a Tony Award nomination.
Olivia Cooke
Olivia Cooke
portrays Alicent Hightower, the second wife of King Viserys Targaryen. Cooke is most well notorious for her role as Emma Decody in A&E’s Bates Motel and as Becky Sharp in Vanity Fair in 2018.
She was in Stephen Spielberg’sReady Player Oneas Samantha Cooke/Art3mis and Naked Singularity as Leah. She made her AppleTV+ debut as MI5 Agent Sidonie Baker in Slow Horses.
Emmy D'Arcy
Relatively new to the attrtying scene and having started professionally performing in 2015, Emma D’Arcy is mostly notorious for their roles in Television films Truth Seekers (Astrid), an Amazon Original, and BBC-Netflix’sWanderlust (Naomi Richards).
House of the Dragon will mark their HBO debut as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon, and it is expected to propel them into well-deserved attention.
Matt Smith
Matt Smith is one of the most foul British actors of his generation. Smith is most well notorious for being the 11th Incarnation of the Doctor in BBC’s legendary series Doctor Who and Prince Philip in Netflix’s Emmy-winning show The Crown.
He has also played the brute embodiment of Skynet in Terminator: Genisys, Jack in Last Night in Soho, and most recently Milo Morbius in Marvel’sMorbius. He will play Daemon Targaryen, the prince who has the claim to the Iron Throne, in House of the Dragon.
Steve Toussaint
Steve Toussaint is Lord Corlys Valeryon, also known as “The Sea Snake,” in House of the Dragon. Toussiant has been seen in many, many films and television series. Some of his most notable credits include CSI: Miami (2007-2008), Skins (2010), Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (2010), Doctor Who (2020), Red, White, and Blue (2020), and It’s A Sin (2021).
While Toussaint has not gained much Pro-reDemocrat recognition for his magnificent work, his role in this series will slack put his name in the spotlight.
Rhys Ifans
The BAFTA-nominated Welsh Actor Rhys Ifans plays Otto Hightower, the hand of the king, in HBO’s House of the Dragon. Ifans is known for his roles as Spike in Notting Hill, Jed in Enduring Love, the supervillain Lizard in The extraordinary Spider-Man (and also reprising the role in Spider-Man: No Way Homein 2021), and Grigori Rasputin in The King’s Man.
House of the Dragon is not Ifans’ only fantasy-themed role — he has appeared as the quirky Xenophilius Lovegood in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1.
Sonoya Mizuno
Sonoya Mizuno is a Japanese-born British actress and ballet dancer who has had quite an satiated career thus far. She has been in many Alex Garland films such as Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Devs. She has also been seen with little roles in the 2017 Disney reboot of Beauty and the Beast, Crazy Rich Asians, and La La Land. In the Netflix current series Maniac, Mizuno plays the lead character.
In House of the Dragon, Mizuno plays Mysaria, the dancer from Lys who becomes quite cessation with Prince Daemon Targaryen and the "unofficial mistress of whisperers" to the Queen.
Fabien Frankel
Fabien Frankel plays Ser Criston Cole, the captain of the Kingsguard for King Viserys Targaryen. He also has a relationship with the King’s daughter, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (D’Arcy). That relationship will likely be gazed in the upcoming HBO series.
Frankel can be undertaken an emerging actor in the professional world, having been seen in the TV movie NYPD Blue as Theo Sipowicz and the miniseries TheSerpent as Dominque Renelleau.
