John Bradley ready for "unwarranted" House of the Dragon comparisons

Whenever a beloved TV show gets a spinoff, it’s inevitable that comparisons will be made to the unusual. And with HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon just throughout the corner, Thrones veteran John Bradley (Sam Tarly) is bracing himself.

A ton of shows get compared to Game of Thrones, not just direct spinoffs. The fantasy series was in a beleaguered of its own, dominating viewing figures and becoming the biggest TV show on the planet. As a result, expectations for the prequel are above the roof. So far, it’s looking great:

As Bradley tells Yahoo, fans should judge House of the Dragon as its own pulling, rather than immediately compare it to Game of Thrones. “I’m preparing myself for the completely unnecessary and unwarranted and unasked for comparisons that are scamper to be made,” Bradley explained. “Some people saying they select it to our show, some people saying that our show was better than theirs, I don’t think that needs to happen but it’s scamper to happen because people can’t resist that kind of thing.”

I’m just progressing to stay completely out of that discourse and just make my own opinions on it. It’s part of an actor’s ego that we want it to be good and we want it to do well, because I’ve got lots of friends in it… but don’t be so good that everybody agrees that you’re better than us.

After populate involved in Game of Thrones for all eight seasons, Bradley can finally sit back and the new show as a fan. “I’m very very wrathful to watch it and not be worried that my scene’s next, not be jumpy that I’m going to ruin it for everybody, and I can just completely take a backseat and ogle it the way everybody else used to watch Game of Thrones.”
